The Tanium solution requires only a single piece of infrastructure to manage up to 400,000 managed nodes. This single server can allow hundreds of administrators to concurrently administer the computers in the environment, asking hundreds of questions per second, with no noticeable load on the Tanium Clients, or the network.

400,000+ Managed Nodes: At scales exceeding 400,000 Managed Nodes, it is possible to split the functions on the Tanium Server onto multiple physical servers, with the Parsing Engine, Console Communications, Database, and Client Communications functions split to different servers. Tanium Client Software Requirements

The Tanium Client runs on the following Operating Systems:

• Windows: Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, XP, Vista, 7. All flavors and variants supported.
• Mac OS: OS X 10.4+
• Linux and UNIX:Linux and UNIX clients are available upon request.

Tanium Client Hardware Requirements

The Tanium Client process uses the following resources:

• CPU: 0.1% Utilization
• Memory (RAM): 10 MB
• Disk Space: 10MB of Hard Disk Space
• Network: Less than 10K/s of LAN traffic for peer-to-peer communication to answer questions and report on state.

The Tanium Client has no dependencies on libraries or applications on the managed nodes. The Client installs with Local System or equivalent privileges, and therefore does not require any domain authentication or other customized credentials.
